• Matted at 5L X 7W inches Nichole Spates has lived in five states but currently lives in Orlando, Florida, which truly is The City Beautiful. Since 2021, Nichole has exclusively used her Pixel smartphone for her photography. Her images are edited with Snapseed and Lightroom. Much of her work utilizes digital double or multiple exposure. These techniques invite the viewer to reflect on the fleeting moments of life, the colliding of natural elements, mankind’s impact on the environment, or the over-stimulated lives that we lead. An adaptation of the images from her In My House mini photo series can been seen as a 4’ x 10’ hand-painted art panel entitled Frond Memories (2021) in neighborhood of Ivanhoe Village in Orlando. Nichole is a 23-24 United Arts of Central Florida Individual Artist grant recipient for her photo series Orlando Mirages. Her work has been shown in group exhibitions in New York and Central Florida, and in literary journals.
