• Inspiration struck 18 years ago for artist Jon Rummel; by chance while chopping “Fatwood” into kindling sticks by lamp light, he noticed the warm and soothing amber glow of the resin trapped in the wood. Once backlit, the natural translucency of the wood showcased the shape, shades, and character of the heart of the Long Leaf Pine. Unlocking the beauty from within these long dead, old growth trees has become the mission of his company, Southern Hotpine Creations. As a nightlight or a natural sun catcher, Southern Hotpine Creations serves as a one of a kind piece of rustic home décor.
